I had the honor of Summerfair contacting me to judge the jewelry category this year! Out of the incredible jewelry that I encountered there I chose Aaron Rubinstein of Cincinnati, OH for first place. He had very intricate pieces that required many steps. His craftsmanship was outstanding! Here's his site:
After more research I realized that I am currently in a show with him at the Ohio Craft Museum! The piece that you see above is from that show.
Summerfair is an incredible show! If you are in the Cincinnati area I hope that you can make it!

This is a found object pendant made of copper, antler, wild grass, hemp cord, and a found tin. The theme of this piece is based around the idea of animals losing their habitat, because our society keeps destroying wooded areas to build another department or grocery store.

Recently, I have had two of my pieces selected for The Best of 2009 Show at The Ohio Craft Museum! I will have more information about the show once we get closer to the opening. Here is a link to the Best of 2008 Show:
Here are the two pieces that were accepted: Origin of the Ring and Wary Petiole.

This is one of my more recent creations. I've been dabbling in using found objects in my work. In this brooch you can see my interest for the outdoors. This brooch (Stag Nut) is created with: etched copper, sterling silver, nickel silver, black walnut and deer antler. The size is 2" x 2".
